Campus Projects

CCI Director Michael Rohd teaches courses at University of Montana that are connected to projects and goals the Co-lab is working on. In addition to courses, CCI engages in other campus projects that align with its core mission and vision.

Courses

Gaming for Public Health

Fall 2023

What is the state of mental health across Montana? What issues of access and capacity prevent equitable service delivery and positive health outcomes for all Montanans? What strategies can be invented and deployed to tackle these issues? In this full term, weekly class, students from across campus and disciplines will collaborate to build a phone-based gaming experience that will be central to State of Mind and its commitment to increasing connections to care for Montana residents. This course is co-listed along with MART 462 Mobile Game Programming, which emphasizes the design of cross-platform experiences. Co-taught by faculty Michael Rohd and Michael Cassens.

Other Campus Projects

Project Democracy

In addition to courses, CCI engages in other campus projects that align with its core mission and vision.

At the request of The President’s Office, CCI is overseeing a campus Democracy Initiative. This effort involves a campus wide audit of democracy activities within and outside of Academic programs, and a process of coalition-building and vision setting.

The goal is to understand and activate how UM can contribute on campus and across our state to meaningful work that shores up our commitments at the individual, institutional and community levels to equitable, functional, civil democratic practices.
